The 2013-14 Cloverleaf Academic Challenge team completed its record-setting season May 30-June 1 in Chicago, competing in the High School National Championship Tournament.

The HSNCT is the premier academic championship in North America and Cloverleaf was one of 272 schools from the United States and Canada to qualify for this event.  Against top-tier talent from across the continent, the Colts finished the HSNCT with a 5-5 record, ranked 130th of the 272 schools.

Senior captain Brian Easterling ended his brilliant Academic Challenge career by being named a Tournament All Star and ranking 20th out of 1,325 individual players!

The Cloverleaf team of Brian, senior Meka George, junior Ashley Meece, senior Joseph Winnicki, senior Elizabeth Trimble, and senior Dignity Ruebensaal defeated teams from J.M Tate High School (Florida), MacArthur (Texas), Stoughton (Wisconsin), Tippecanoe (Ohio), and Davis (California). Cloverleaf narrowly lost to two-time Canadian national champion Lisgar Collegiate Institute of Ottawa, Ontario.

The 2013-14 Academic Challenge campaign was the most successful in Cloverleaf history.  In addition to the honor of playing at the HSNCT, the Colts finished their regular season ranked seventh in the State of Ohio and won the season championship on the Cleveland WEWS-TV 5 Academic Challenge television show.

Thank you for making our school and community proud!
