Youth Girls Basketball sign-ups Nov. 2

The second-annual Cloverleaf Youth Girls Basketball program will begin with sign-ups at the Cloverleaf High School gym on the first Monday in November.

On Nov. 2, players and parents can arrive as early as 6 p.m. to begin the registration process. There will be an open clinic for all girls in the Little Dribblers or Rec League from 6:30 p.m. to 7:15 p.m., followed by a clinic for all players interested in doing Travel Ball from 7:15 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Cloverleaf High School girls basketball players and coaches, along with parent volunteers, help the players (grades 1-6) with their practices and games from November through January.

“We had a great time last year and hope to build upon the tradition we started,” Cloverleaf head girls basketball coach John Carmigiano said. “This is a great experience for our staff and players -- to be so closely involved with the youth at Cloverleaf.”

The CYGB welcomes Cloverleaf parent support and assistance to run some of the teams.

“We had some great parents involved last year who understood how to help the kids develop a love for the game, and we are always open to more help, so just show up and talk to us,” Carmigiano said.

The CYGB will again offer three affordable programs for girls in grades 1-6 in its second season, including Little Dribblers ($30), Rec League ($40), and Travel Ball ($70). Players can play in both the Rec League and Travel Ball for the same $70 total.

For the sign-ups, parents are asked to bring the registration form and payment, while the players can come dressed to take part in the clinic.

“This is a great program for any girl with even a little interest in basketball,” Carmigiano said. “They get to work directly with our high school players and we have a lot of fun as we go.”

Registration forms were passed out in the schools, but just in case, the same information can be found by clicking the link below.
